When Dad adds a link for a downloadable document, it might be helpful to right-click (control-click, Mac) on the link and save the 'linked file as' and choose where you'd like the document to live on your computer. If you simply single-click on it, depending on your browser, the browser might try to open the linked document, which won't work, and will display very strange looking code on the page.
